The Mater foundation holds six Cars for Cancer draws every year, with raffle tickets limited to only fifteen thousand per lottery draw. Cars for Cancer gives away six prestigious vehicles every year, each of which amounts to more than seventy thousand dollars. Prizes for Cars for Cancer home lotteries may either be a Ford Performance Vehicle (FPV) or Holden Special Vehicle (HSV).

The Sisters of Mercy promoted the Mater Art Union which, today, may be associated with the Mater Foundation. The Mater Foundation is branch of Mater Medical Research Institute and Mater Health Services that manages charitable works directed to Queensland communities.
